Welcome to the Epsilon Class!

On March 28th, our chapter welcomed in our new Epsilon class. After initiation, we had a wonderful group bonding dinner, complete with a dance party. The Epsilons are such a great group of individuals. I cannot wait to get to know each better on both a professional and personal level.

As a welcome to Zeta, I would like to impart some wisdom.

My biggest piece of advice is to embrace opportunities and risks. Hofstra gives students ample opportunity. The trick is to take advantage of these opportunities.

Sometimes, these chances are on campus. A great example is the recent George W. Bush conference. Student volunteers had a chance to escort conference participants around campus. Simply put: an easy way to network. You never know when a connection you make can help you in the future. It is a small world, and especially in the communications field, connections are everything.

Off-campus opportunities are also great experiences. In January, I was able to represent Hofstra at The Washington Center’s Academic Seminar in Washington D.C. This seminar featured numerous speakers and site visits. It was a great chance to get to know professionals, but also fellow students who may be an asset in the professional world. These experiences are invaluable to a student.

For some of our Epsilons, coming out for Zeta might have been a risk they took. I can confidently say being a member of Zeta is one of the best things a communications student can do. Zeta helps you grow professionally and personally. I have an amazing network of supporters who I can also call some of my best friends.

Welcome, Epsilons. Please enjoy your time in Zeta and at Hofstra, and please take advantage of all of the opportunity thrown your way. As always, achieve with wisdom, integrity, and love!
